Susy has many years of experience in the legal field as a paralegal, office manager, legal administrative assistant, judicial administrative assistant, and document specialist. Beginning as Office Manager at Jackson County MO Public Defender, she then transitioned to serving as Judicial Administrative Assistant for two different judges of the 16th Circuit of Missouri. Upon the creation of the Capital Punishment Resource Center, Susy was recruited by its Director, Sean O’Brien, to act as Office Manager for the new organization, and acted as such until its loss of federal funding. Subsequently, she was employed by the two largest law firms in Kansas City.

Upon relocating to Los Angeles in 2010, Susy was again enlisted by Sean O’Brien to serve as a remote paralegal on a death penalty habeas case in Wyoming, which concluded late in 2021.

Susy is very happy to again be a part of such important death penalty work.
